Having reviewed numbers during previous sessions we are now limiting numbers to 40 adult/family units.
We are so excited to announce that Little Fish and Big Fish are starting up again in St John's Church.
The first Little Fish session will be on Monday 13th September. We will then run on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9.30 to 11am during term time as before.
The first Big Fish session will be on Saturday 18th September
from 9 to 10.30am.
Please note the following guidelines that we will be following:
Really looking forward to seeing our Little and Big Fish families again. It's been such a long and difficult time and we know that you will work with us to make the re-opening as successful as possible.
As before, we will operate on a first come, first served basis - there will not be a booking system.
Initially, to ensure that we can do this as safely as possible for everyone, numbers will be limited to 30 adult/family units, plus pre-school children (aged 0 to rising 5). After a few weeks, if all has gone well, we will start to increase the numbers again.
Adults will be asked to sign in and leave a contact phone number / email.
Hand sanitiser will be available and we would ask all adults to use this on entering the building, and during the session.
All adults are asked to wear a mask while in the church building (unless medically exempt.)
We will serve water or squash for children but ask that you bring a suitable cup for your child.
We will serve tea or coffee for adults, in disposable cups. If you are able to bring a re-usable cup, that would be great.
Song and story time will resume as before.
There will not be Messy Play, but the hall will be used for additional play activities during Little Fish sessions.
We had hoped that with the announcement due from the government yesterday, we would be able to plan to run Little Fish for about three or four weeks before the summer holidays start. Sadly, with remaining restrictions now not being lifted until mid July at least, we have come to the conclusion that we will not be able to re-open Little or Big Fish before September.
We are so disappointed not to see everyone before the holiday period. We hope that you are all well, and that you have a lovely summer, whatever you are able to do.
Please keep an eye on our Facebook page @StJohnsChurchPenge or our church website for any further updates, and we really hope that we will be back to normal in the early autumn.
We miss you! We are so sad that it is still not possible to re-open Little and Big Fish safely. We are looking at guidelines as they change, and how we may be able to make it work safely in the future. As soon as there is any news, we will post updates here on our website and also on our Facebook page (@StJohnsChurchPenge)
We are very sad that due to the ongoing pandemic, it is still not possible to open up Little Fish and Big Fish at the moment. It has been good to see many of you in Penge and the surrounding area in recent months, and to have the chance for a quick catch up. We know that our Little and Big Fish families are missing meeting together as much as we are. As soon as there is any news, we will post updates here on our website and also on our Facebook page (@StJohnsChurchPenge)
In light of the updated Coronavirus guidance issued by the Government, it is with regret that we have had to take the decision that Little Fish and Big Fish will close with immediate effect, until further notice.
We know that for so many, these sessions are a highlight of the week, but we need to do all we can to help those running the sessions, as well as those coming along, to stay safe and we know that you will all understand.
We will continue to use our Facebook page (@StJohnsChurchPenge) and our website for information as needed, so do please check back from time to time.
In the meantime, if anyone is really struggling, do let us know by using the 'Contacts Us' tab above and we will do whatever we can as a church to help.
