Home Groups
Regular attendance at Sunday worship is a key mark of a person's commitment to Jesus Christ because the basic unit of the church is the church itself. However, in addition to Sunday worship, meeting together in home groups is a very helpful way for Christians to help other Christians be Christians! This is because home groups provide:
-
A good place to listen to God together:
members can help each other study the bible.
-
A good place to talk to God:
members can pray for and minister to each other.
-
A good place to care for one another:
members can carry the burdens of others.
-
A good place to invite non-Christians:
members can help introduce others to Jesus Christ.
Joining a home group, therefore, is a key step in becoming more committed to the life, mission and ministry of St John’s Church. Every home group in St John’s seeks to welcome new people who want to enjoy a deeper form of Christian community and grow in their knowledge and experience of God. The best way to get involved in a home group is to get involved in Sunday church first and then, as you get to know people personally, express an interest in joining a home group. |
